What was the highlight for you in the life of the Chaplaincy in 2007?
The annual retreat – definitely the best retreat out of the 31 I have attended.

Most recent film and book that you would recommend?
Film: One Night with the King (about Esther); Book: Life to the Full – collected essays edited by
Prof. James Franklin.
What are your hopes for WYD?
That it will be the source of many conversions to Christ and his Church, a blessing
for the Church in Australia and throughout the world, a blessing for Australia as a nation.

What was the highlight for you in the life of the Chaplaincy in 2007?
The highlight was having Br Paul Rowse OP one of my Dominican Brother join me at the
Chaplaincy during semester 2.

“The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth” Psalm 97:5
Most recent film or book that you would recommend?
With the post Christmas sales picked up a copy of “It Happened One Night” ($7 you gotta be happy
about that). 1934 and it still sparkles.
What are your hopes for WYD?
Grace for our whole nation such as we have not seen before. That the witness these young people will
be, will prove a watershed for a new generation of Catholics as they discover solidarity with each
other, support and inspiration, that their lives are forever changed as people of faith.

What was the highlight for you in the life of the Chaplaincy in 2007?
My highlight for 2007 was our Christweek Mission and the End of year Retreat.
Meeting new students on campus was fabulous and having the opportunity to
speak to them about the Catholic faith is always a blessing.
Which scripture quote is important for you at this time?
“Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his faithful love endures for ever” Psalm 136:1
Most recent film or book that you would recommend?
“Late Have I Loved Thee” by Ethel Mannin - find a copy and read it. It’s a great read!!
What are your hopes for WYD?
My hope is that the faith of young people is strengthened and I pray that their love for the sacraments
is renewed.

What was the highlight for you in the life of the Chaplaincy in 2007?
The highlight of 2007 for me was World Youth Day promotions at
different University campuses, seeing students get excited about
the Pope’s visit! Getting engaged was also great!!
Which scripture quote is important for you at this time?
“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits for Him, I rely on His promise, my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for morning” Psalm 130:5-6
Most recent film or book that you would recommend?
I have been reading and recommend “A Return to Modesty” by Wendy Shalit, a very thought
provoking and brave book about purity and virtue.
What are your hopes for WYD?
My hope is that of the Apostles, that the Gospel will be spread across this country and the
world. That all young people will come to know the saving power of Jesus and be his witnesses.

St Michael’s College & University Chapel of the Resurrection
St Michael’s is a Catholic college located approx. 100 metres down
from the Wentworth building at 150 City Road Chippendale.
Primarily it’s a residence for overseas students from Asian countries
but its open to everyone and it has its own chapel, The Chapel of the Resurrection.
